Welcome to the SIS Summer 2013 Abroad: Baku blog!

This short-term summer course, delivered by SIS partner Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy in Baku, Azerbaijan, is known as the Baku Summer Energy School and will take place from July 6 through July 20. During a busy schedule of lectures, workshops and site visits, the 2013 Baku Summer Energy School will expose our students to a wide range of issues, such as the fundamentals of energy, energy law, economics and politics of energy, environmental impacts, and strategic management. This is a competitive program with students and professionals from all over the world taking part. Five SIS graduate students will take part in the course includes 2 students in the Comparative & Regional Studies program, 1 in International Politics, 1 in Global Environmental Politics, and 1 in the Master of International Service program.

In less than a month these students will be landing in the Caspian Basin and we are eager to learn more about the region, Azerbaijan and the fascinating issues they will be studying.
